Computer Science, Week 1: LEO & AAYAN

Teaching these kids was amazing! Both were very responsive to the curriculum and enjoyed starting with Python programming. We had a lot of fun working with one another to solve interesting coding problems - like distinguishing data types, writing the correct code, and fixing syntax errors.

This class had the kids learn about where coding can be found in the world, such as in video games and streaming sites. We got started by learning about strings, integers, and floats, which gave them some basic information about how to start with Python. We then worked on performing simple mathematics with integers, and how to make a simple calculator, then worked on combining strings and integers. Lastly, we worked on input() functions, and how to use them to communicate with the console.

Overall, Leo and Aayan were great students who achieved a lot in their first session. I am ecstatic to teach them again.
